The first book by Mark Holloway (The Freedom Diaries) has a single page on how to have your own conversation with God. The rest of the book is a record of some conversations between Mark and God. I first heard Mark speaking at a conference, I enjoyed his talk - until he invited us to have our own written conversation with God. If there'd been room, I probably would have left the room at that stage, but I'm so glad I stayed and found ANYbody can have their own conversations.

Mark then published his first work of fiction, although when I asked him to confirm it was all based on true stories, he didn't reply. However, "11 Days" says "based on a true story", and the "hero" at one stage says his pen name is Mark Holloway. While parts of the book are real "heart in mouth". the most powerful moment is when he visits his estranged wife. We know that in real life there was much time and repentance before they eventually did get back together.

If you do not yet have your own conversations with God, this book will make you question why not. Each of the characters has their own path, including one who is not in any sense on the Christian route, but that's part of what Mark is about - breaking "Christian" traditions as he moves past them into God.
